About
Taking place on Sunday 25th August on Clifton Downs, Massive Attack return to their hometown for their first live Bristol show in 5 years. The event promises to be the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged. Marking the culmination of 25 years of climate activism on the part of the band, and a first physical fruition of their collaboration with climate scientists and analysts from the renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, including Massive Attack’s commissioning of the only Paris 1.5 compatible roadmap for decarbonisation of the live music sector.
Kicking off at 2pm, featuring a stacked lineup throughout the day, the show also has a dedicated talk area in partnership with Novara Media, featuring panel discussions and guest speakers. The event will also feature a field studio, where attendees can get their hands on one-off limited edition signed and hand finished prints and t-shirts, with all profits going to Médecins Sans Frontières.
Please follow the @act1.5_bristol instagram account to keep up to date with all show information.

Location
Site address: Durdham Down, Circular Rd, Clifton, Bristol BS9 1NE
What3words: lace.edge.wished
The Bristol Downs is an open green-field site. It has some limited pavement and tarmac paths on the peripheral entrances and exits, however most of the space consists of grass and green space. While there will be some sheltered areas (some stalls and marquees), it is predominantly an open-air event. Ground conditions are therefore weather dependent, if we experience extreme weather the ground may become muddy and the grass may well get churned up. This means that mobility across the site may become compromised. We ask you to consider this before purchasing a ticket.
Lineup
The gates open at 2pm and the event finishes at 10.15pm, with the last entry at 6pm.
Music will be playing throughout the day, culminating in Massive Attack’s headline slot. The set times will be released closer to the show. Please follow @act1.5_bristol on instagram and turn on notifications to be first in the know.
All ages are welcome but please note that this is an open air concert area and there is no bespoke kids area.
Travel
As part of our hard work towards decarbonisation, we kindly ask that you walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the show if you live locally. If you are travelling from outside of the City, please come by rail or bus.
There is no general public parking on the site. There will be road closures and parking exclusions in the surrounding area.
Train Hugger
How you get to the show, and home, could play a huge part in making sure this is the lowest carbon show of its size ever held. If you are coming from outside Bristol, travelling by train is a huge contribution.
Massive Attack have invited fans into this experiment and would like to encourage anyone travelling for the show to utilise rail services as much as possible. We have partnered with rail booking service Train Hugger, with a portion of your ticket cost helping to restore the UK’s natural world.
As a way of saying thank you, anyone travelling from outside Bristol with a booking via Trainhugger will gain access to a special Train Hugger guest bar on site subject to availability. Head to the Information Point on site and simply show your Single or Return ticket dated from 25.08 - including off peak return - to gain access. Ticket must be shown via the Train Hugger app, in wallet or via the original booking email.
Show Special Trains and E-Bus Transfers
How you get to the show, and home, could play a huge part in making sure this is the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged. If you are coming from outside of Bristol, travelling by train is a huge contribution.
Massive Attack have invited fans into this experiment by arranging 5x Show Special trains. Routes have been designed to serve areas with the largest number of ticket-holders who will be travelling to the City for the show. They will depart Bristol one hour after the standard national rail schedule has finished, to make this a whole lot easier.
If you are planning to travel home by one of the Show Special services, you’ll be entitled to a free Zenobe e-bus transfer from Temple Meads to the event, and to either Temple Meads or Parkway after the show to catch your Show Special train home.
As the Show Special trains will be leaving after 11:30pm, the band have arranged for the Zenobe e-bus transfers to get you directly from The Downs to the station at the end of the gig. The event finishes at 10:15pm so please make your way promptly to the collection point on Stoke Road, The Downs immediately afterwards and make sure you board the correct bus for your homebound station.
How It Works
1. Purchase your Show Special rail ticket to Bristol via Train Hugger.
2. At Temple Meads station present your rail ticket to the show stewards outside the station to board the Zenobe e-bus for a free transfer to the festival and collect your wristband
3. Travel back via Zenobe e-bus from the gig direct to either Temple Meads or Parkway to catch your Show Special train home - please make sure you board the e-bus headed to the correct station for your onward train.** Please make sure you make your way to your transfer promptly after the show. Buses will leave to allow enough time for passengers to get to their trains, we cannot be held responsible if you miss them.**
(Please note: For any other event ticket-holders arriving at Temple Meads there is an Event Shuttle Service available (see below for more info).

Code of Conduct & Safer Spaces Now
MASSIVE ATTACK / ACT 1.5 is a space created in Bristol for people to come together; we prioritise inclusivity and want to make sure everyone feels safe to express themselves at our event. We would like to emphasise that we expect each person at the event to behave with respect for others and their boundaries.
We will not tolerate any kind of harassment. Speak to our team if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable or notice something happening to someone else that doesn’t feel right.
Don’t be a passive bystander. Being an active bystander means being aware of when someone’s behaviour is inappropriate or threatening and choosing to challenge it. If you do not feel comfortable doing this directly, then get someone to help you such as a friend or someone in authority.
Before stepping in, try the ABC approach.
Assess for safety: If you see someone in trouble, ask yourself if you can help safely in any way. Remember, your personal safety is a priority – never put yourself at risk.
Be in a group: It’s safer to call out behaviour or intervene in a group. If this is not an option, report it to others who can act.
Care for the victim: Talk to the person who you think may need help. Ask them if they are OK.
Never put yourself in danger. Only intervene if it is safe to do so. In any other instance, please approach stewards, welfare staff or any other team members you can spot.
We are proud to have Safer Spaces on site, a community interest company that was set up to help educate and create a culture that confronts and prevents sexual violence, harassment and domestic abuse at festivals and events; providing all women and girls access to specialist support, reporting and ongoing localised referral pathways. They are gender informed but their services are gender inclusive, turning no one away that needs a safe space. Find their tent near the Main Gate (next to Medical & Welfare).
